My Empty Home is on the Market

Once you have made the decision to put your home on the market, you are closing one chapter and moving onto the next. If you are ahead of the game, you may have a new home to move into before your home is officially sold. Leaving an empty home awaiting a buyer.

In the meantime, what could go wrong?

Lets first note the clients coming into the home. What will they feel, see and smell? Is your thermostat set to a decent temperature to conserve your spending but also to make your home feel inviting? If your home is going to sit during the winter, are the pipes going to be ok? I recommend to my sellers in this situation to leave some heat on during the day and allow an automatic thermostat regulate the night temperature back to a cooler degree. Lights should be on a timer or left on all of the time. Appliances should be checked regularly. Pests and mold can become an issue.
