Do you dream of buying a home?

Is buying a home a dream you want to accomplish this year? Do you know where to start? Buying a home can be a complex process, but there really are just a few steps to get you prepared. Here are a few things to get yourself ready and excited to make your dream come true.
Check your credit report
When was the last time you checked your credit report, I hope you look at it once a year and are checking for any errors on it? If you do find any you will have time to have them corrected and removed. Do you know your credit score? Another reason to check once a year! If you need to improve your credit score, now is the time to take steps to improve it. Not sure what needs to be done to improve it? Ask your Mortgage lender that you plan to use, they have so much knowledge and information to help you prepare for taking out a mortgage. What you should know about inspection if you are selling your home or planning to buy one!

The Home Inspection process
You've entered into a contract, and now what...INSPECTION COMES....But don't worry....I’ve got you!

First the process and the computation of time...Here in Washington according to our contract the buyer in a residential purchase and sale typically has a ten day window to conduct a home inspection from the day of mutual acceptance (Day that both Seller and Buyer have signed and agreed to all terms). This period can be shortened or lengthened of course, but the average time frame is ten days.  Since this deadline is more than five days it does include weekend days when counting, so remember that.  Also be sure to talk to your broker about inspection items that can be included like a sewer inspection or a radon test as well.

Advice for a First Time Home Buyer

If you have never purchased a house before, you may have no idea when and where to begin when preparing to become a homeowner. You may be on the fence about buying, or you may feel like you are ready to buy a home today. Either way, these tips can help anyone feel a little more prepared for their first home purchase!

MONEY IS KEY

It is easy to begin scrolling through beautiful homes on the market without considering your budget. Sale postings can be all over your social media feeds, tempting you to just take a little peek. While looking can be fun and exciting, you should prepare yourself financially before you start eyeing any homes. It is much better to know what your price range is and you don't fall in love with a house you just can't afford (for now!)
