Wow Potential Home Buyers

Do you want to WOW potential home buyers?  There are so many different ways of staging your home that will make even the ficklest of home buyers drop their jaw.  And guess what? Staging isn’t the only thing to get people talking!


Creating space:  Declutter, declutter, declutter,  But, not only that, you want your furniture to create the illusion of space.  Make sure you are experimenting with different ways of staging your home in order to create the most space possible.


Lighting:  I can tell you the most annoying thing about my house is there is no lighting in the living room.  You can bet buyers will feel the same way walking into your home so make sure you have ample lighting in all rooms.  You may even want to consider installing LED light bulbs, placing lamps in the bedrooms, and making sure you have lights on when you have a showing scheduled.  Open curtains so that plenty of natural light shines through as well.


Home Information:  If you really want to impress home buyers put a flyer on the counter that highlights your home, or your neighborhood.  You can include a plat map, listing information, a pre-inspection report, etc. This information will answer some of the questions buyers will typically have and will give them the impression that you love your home and your community.


Store Personal Items:  You want buyers to envision themselves living in your space so be sure to pull pictures of your family off of the wall, and put away family heirloom-basically anything that doesn’t help the function of your home needs to be stored.


Accessorize:  Anything you can do to make your home look as asthetically pleasing as possible you should do.  Add some color by putting a beautiful bouquet of floors on the coffee table, visually appropriate paintings on the walls, blinds on the windows, towels in the bathroom, or a throw blanket on the couch can all help your home look more warm and inviting.  


Don’t Forget About The Exterior:  The exterior of your home is the first thing that people see when they pull up for a showing.  Wow them by making sure you home doesn’t have any peeling paint, that your lawn in in good shape, and that your windows are clean.  You may also want to consider a welcome mat, a patio table and chairs, or a wreath on the door welcoming people in.


These are just a few of the things you can do to impress potential homebuyers.  Going the extra mile will ensure your home gets in front of the most serious buyers and can help your home sell quicker and for the most money.
