Spring into your new home!

Spring into your new home!

Spring is coming and that always gives people the home buying and selling inspiration!

This weekend, most of us turned our clocks an hour ahead as we ‘spring forward.’ We may be losing an hour of sleep, but that doesn't mean you should lose hope on finding a home you love.

If you’ve been thinking about buying a home but haven’t seen anything on the market that checks off the list of everything you've been looking for, this spring might just be when your dream home hits the market.

At the end of every year, we see a major drop in the housing inventory. Homeowners are less likely to sell in the winter months, and most closings happen before it gets too cold. The good news for you is that this encourages sellers to put their homes on the market after the new year when both the weather and the market start to warm up again!

We have seen the inventory climbing, and we expect spring to bring the biggest jump in available homes. Historically in our market the months of March through June will have the highest amount of homes that are going up for sale.

So why should you buy now, if this is a yearly spring trend? Our home prices for last year increased nearly 13% year over year and so far in 2019 both January and February have seen a 13% increase in values here in the Spokane area market. Home inventory continues to be hovering around only one months supply and prices continue to go up! So, for both buyer's and seller's this is a perfect time to list your home to get a great price, and as a buyer you want to beat out even more price increases as we head into the most popular months for buying and selling.

We are also looking at seeing a population growth of nearly 15,000 people this year as well in our greater Spokane area. So, buying now means you can get ahead of this growth prediction.

Don’t wait to find your dream home - save some of your hard-earned money and call me. I’ll help you spend spring in your new house!
