Selling your home in the Winter.

Selling your home in the Winter.

How to turn your home from Cold to Cozy when selling it in the winter is easy with a few fixes. As the days get shorter and shorter you spend a lot more time curled up on the couch than you do on those long warm summer days. Instead of letting the cold weather make your home feel chilly, take the time to turn your space into a warm and cozy escape from the winter weather.

Light Some Candles with yummy scents

Lighting candles will add to your comfy atmosphere. They will give soft light and welcoming scents for every corner of your home. There are a lot of options out there if you don’t want actual candles to give that warm glow with battery operated candles that will flicker like real candles. Use the same scent throughout the entire home. There is something comforting to opening a door and getting a hint of a scent that is not overwhelming and pleasing.

Add Texture and warm winter color To Your Decor

The right decor can make your space even more inviting. Plush cushions and throws paired with the perfect cable-knit blankets will make you and your potential buyers want to spend the weekends binge-watching from the couch. Change out some of your pop of colors décor to some warm complimentary colors. Using festive decorations for the Holidays can also give your home that cozy happy feeling you want people to feel when they walk in.

Use the right light bulbs

Make sure you have soft warm lightbulbs in all of your lamps. Don’t use bright white lightbulbs this time of year, you want to have a bright room with a soft glow. This will make the room seems warmer and people will want to linger in each room longer.

Turn up the heat

Having your house at a warm temp for showings. You want them to feel like they can take their coats off and stay awhile to enjoy the house. If its chilly they will hurry thru the house and wonder, why it’s so cold.

Turn on the gas fireplace

The warmth from the fireplace and the soothing glow will give your home and enchanting feel for guests.

Make A Winter Playlist

The final step to making your space cozy this season is making the perfect playlist to play in the background while your home is being shown.

If you do these tips while selling your house it will make any guest want to buy your home while they imagine snuggling under a throw blanket, sipping a  mulled wine + fresh cookies and enjoying the sounds of the winter!

If you would like more information please give me a call, I’d love to sit down with you and help you sell your home.
