We are all feeling the fall weather getting colder and colder, which goes hand in hand with the market slowing down. There are few homes going onto the market, with fewer homes that go pending also. But it is normal and a consistent trend this time of year.
People are getting busy preparing for the holidays, with families coming to visit and decorating their homes for a couple of winter months ahead of us. Snow days will keep people home sitting by their fires and dreaming of looking for their next home once the warmer weather starts back up.
The people that are still selling their homes this time of year are motivated and have a need to sell. Buyers are determined to find a home even if it means they may need to bundle up and even looking after work in the darker hours of the evening. These two groups of people will continue to move forward with their plans.
It is still a good time to list and buy, we may have a low inventory but there are also less buyers. The recreational lookers and people sort of looking for inspirational ideas to improve their home will not be out at the open houses and at the occasional showings.
Things will start picking back up come February for more homes on the market and buyers getting antsy to start looking again. Spokane has also been growing with a lot of new companies coming, more jobs and we have had a record number of people relocating to the area. If your preparing to either sell or buy don’t wait too long till spring and the warm weather along with everyone else who has been waiting to pounce.
Don’t forget to enjoy what a beautiful place we already live in, how magical our town can look when covered in snow. There is so much to do in the PNW get out and enjoy it.
If you would like more information please give me a call, I’d love to sit down with you and help you sell your home.
