Listing your home for sale and survive the showings

You signed the listing paperwork now what?

You will be doing a lot to get your house ready to go live on the market and it will need to be done in a short period of time. First have your agent give you a list of things they recommend that needs to be done. There will be 5 things to get your home fully prepared.

Declutter your home and get rid of stuff you no longer need or want. Your moving, now is the time to start some packing. You will want your home to seem uncluttered, spacious and most of all sparkling clean.

Clean you house top to bottom. Dust, wipe, and wash all those nook and crannies. People will notice. Drawers will be opened, make sure you have cleaned out the crumbs and the cabinet fronts are polished and clean. Vacuum and wipe down blinds, window sills and wash the walls if there are spots or splatters on them.

Next Curb appeal, its time to do one more yard clean up and maintain the beautiful colorful flowerpots you planted on the front steps. You want the best first impression when people pull up to your house.

Finish tackling that list of things that need fixing. Just do it and get them done, you don’t want a leaky faucet, a sticky doorknob, or a closet door that doesn’t close. Buyers will think you have more wrong with your house than what they can easily see with their eyes.

Your house is ready to shine for showings, and now how will you survive all the showings and having to leave constantly.

Your selling your home, and for that to happen you will need to leave for buyers to see your home. Do your best to accommodate last minute showings, well every showing. Keep your stuff handy so you can leave quickly should you get a call. Have a place for the pets to be put away, having strangers in their home can be stressful and confusing for them. Make sure your home is clean and smelling good at all times. If you are prepared leaving your home quickly and knowing its show ready will take a lot off stress out of the process of selling your home.

If you would like more information please give me a call, I’d love to sit down with you and help you buy or sell your home.
