Selling a home can be a stressful transition, especially if you’re under a time crunch. Are you moving for a job, financial reasons, or because of a personal situation? There are a few things you can do to increase your home's marketability, decrease time on the market, and attract strong offers. Here is how to sell a house fast.
Start decluttering and clean:
Tackle each room in your house and remove all things that are not needed and have only the minimal décor and items out in each room. Pack them all up and away creating a clean canvas for potential buyers. Clean each room as you are decluttering and packing. Don’t forget to scrub the trim, dust the ceiling corners, light fixtures, and door/window frames and drapery.
Hire an agent:
Hiring the right agent to market, show, do paperwork, negotiate, and representing you will take away a lot of stress in this major transaction.
Price to sell:
Pricing your home competitively will get your home sold quickly. Your Spokane real Estate agent will be able to help you price your home and show you comparable properties so you can set the listing price correctly from day one. Overpricing a home can cause a home to sit on the market longer and could potentially cause you to lose money.
Handle any quick repairs:
Get any repairs that you know need to be done corrected early. Even getting these repairs done before listing can help you get better offers and prevent any buyers from walking away. Some repairs may prevent delays with appraisal if they were issues that an appraiser may require to be fixed.
Add curb appeal:
Once you have done repairs, decluttered, cleaned and hired your agent, do the final steps in adding curb appeal! Is your home decorated for the season? This winter put out a few lights, maybe a few holiday decorations to give your home a festive feel. Make sure you have cleaned up the yard if we don’t have a blanket of snow coving the ground. Should we get our beautiful snow, be sure to shovel the walkway making an easy and inviting walk up to your home. You can’t fix a bad first impression, do what you can to make them eager to walk in that front door and fall in love with your home.
If you would like more information please give me a call, I’d love to sit down with you and help you sell your home.
