Looking to sell your home but you do not know where to start? Let me help!
Buyers have seen a lot, they have been around the block, they know what they want. Most buyers say they do not care about the "small stuff" but they do. Here are three suggestions and steps to make that happen:
Step 1. Fix The Little Things-
Once you are in your home for awhile it is easy to overlook the broken handle in the bathroom or the huge scratch on the front door that looks like Godzilla was trying to break down. Update your doorknobs (bye-bye gold knobs), give your home a facelift by giving it a fresh coat of paint, update the bathroom vanity with something modern and new. Small things like this is a step to making your home more sellable.
Step 2. Clean Your Home-
Sure, not everyone keeps a tidy household at all times but when you are selling your home this must be a top priority. When buyers walk into a clean, well-kept home it can do wonders. The buyers will see the clean floors, windows, and imagine themselves there. What does your home smell like? Is it Fall? Get yourself a nice pumpkin pie candle and light that baby up. If your home smells good and it looks good then you are on your way.
Step 3. Hide Your Personal Things-
This one might not be everyone's cup of tea but put away your clothes, put away the family pictures, maybe leave the picture of your dog out because who doesn't like a nice dog picture? When buyers are going through a home they want to picture themselves there, not you and your family surfing the waves in Cali one summer. Put away your personal belongings and help the buyer's imagination soar.
